Aisin Transmission
Diagnostics for Isuzu
NPR and NQR trucks. GMC

Isuzu/Gm trucks used
the Jatco JR403 transmission 4 speed
automatic from 1988 thru 1998. 1999 and
up use the Aisin 450-43LE
4 speed automatic transmission.
In 2006 they also started using the
A465 (Aisin AS68RC)
six speed transmission as well.
All Isuzu NPR
and NQR model trucks
as well as GM W3500 and
W4500 trucks with
diesel engine and the
Aisin 450-43LE Transmission or
Aisin A465 transmission have the capability of having the
trouble codes accessed directly from the
truck using the transmission light on
the dash in what's called
"Dealer Mode".
For correct
Aisin transmission
troubleshooting you must check
year of manufacture inside cab to
properly id these transmissions! do
not go by year of registration. 1998
is split year for model of unit and
diagnosis goes by production years.
also watch out for trucks that the
cabs have been changed on etc. this
can throw you off on proper ID! Any
of these trucks with gas 5.7 and 6.0
Chevy engines will have GM 4l80E
automatic transmission and requires
Tech2 scan tool or equivalent to
access codes and diagnostics.
